Following a discussion with a patient who came in with a running injury, I decided to put together a ‘Running Injury Workshop’ to provide runners with advice on how to prevent and self manage their injuries.
I regularly get asked very similar questions from patients regarding running injuries, so I thought if these questions could be answered in a group setting it could be much more effective. The session includes lots of very useful information based on my experience and up to date evidence from academic research.
WHAT DOES THE WORKSHOP INCLUDE?
The sessions are run for up to 5 people at one time and lasts approximately 2 hours. Based on my experience and academic research, I have developed a workshop that is both informative and interactive answering the questions below:
- Why do we get injured?
- Where do we get injured?
- What is pain and how can this be managed?
- How should I warm up?
- How should I run (treadmill gait analysis)?
- How should I cool down?
- What are the best exercises to stay injury free?
Gait analysis is offered for each attendee which gives the individual some great tips into how they can improve their running style to reduce the risk of injury and improve performance.
As said before, the group environment is a great interactive way to get these messages across, as well as being very cost effective!
Please feel free to contact Tom on the form below or give him a call for a chat to discuss any of the details any further.
