It is fantastic to see running on the rise as a participation sport; over 2 million people in the UK run at least once a week! Running is a great way to become more active and improve your lifestyle, however, (as with all activities and sports), if you’re not quite ready, running injuries can occur. In order to keep injuries to a minimum, it is important for your body to move well and to be well-conditioned for the activity.

Whether you enjoy running as an activity to keep fit; you’re training for your first 5km, or you are a regular marathon runner, Tom can advise and assist you to get back running and keep you injury-free.
At Monkman Physiotherapy, Tom prides himself on being very thorough when getting to the bottom of your running injury. The assessment will involve the following:
- Running-specific musculoskeletal assessment.
- Video-Motion Treadmill Gait Analysis.
Following the assessment, Tom will be able to assist your pain/discomfort with some hands-on treatment, whether this is a massage or joint mobilisations for your running injury. This will then lead to the development of a bespoke rehabilitation programme which will be specific to you and your needs.
